Music City Raceway - Nashville, TN
After a piston swap Saturday afternoon/evening at the PDRA event, Grothus Dragbikes loaded up the bus and trailer and made the approximate 250 mile trip from Memphis Motorsports Park to Music City Raceway. GDB rolled through the gates Sunday with two things in mind, going down the track from A to B and turning on win lights.
The GDB Pro Unlimited entry got off to a fast start by qualifying #1 and appeared to have a happy motor heading into eliminations. Heading into the semi finals GDB decided to save on parts and break the beams while keeping the ultimate goal of winning the race in mind. The decision paid off as Brunson took the finals win over local Pro Mod team Fast Time Motorsports and .........
PDRA - Memphis, TN
Grothus Dragbikes had big expectations heading into their first Professional Drag Racing League event of the year having come off a detuned 4.15 at the NHDRO event in Indianapolis just five days prior. However, weather conditions were vastly different in Memphis than they were in Indianapolis and made things a bit tricky for the first qualifier. Temperatures crept into the 90 plus degree range and the water grains in the air were well over 100!
The first qualifier for Grothus Dragbikes netted a very solid 4.182 elapsed time at 171 mph for the difficult and slow weather conditions. That put the Indocil Art GDB PXM in the #4 qualified position out of the 13 toughest Pro Extreme Motorcycles on the planet. As .........
NHDRO Season Opener - Indianapolis, IN
After doubling up at the all eighth-mile Screaming Eagles Derby event two weeks ago, Grothus Dragbikes was primed and ready for the Rocket City Nationals in Huntsville, AL April 17-18. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other ideas as it rained from the time the GDB crew arrived at the track at 5:00 AM Saturday morning till the event was cancelled at 9:30 AM.
With a fresh motor in the Pro Mod and the renewed nitrous Kaw ready for Top Gas action, GDB wasn’t willing to throw in the towel on the weekend. GDB fired the bus back up and headed north to try and make round three of qualifying at the NHDRO May Bike Fest at Indianapolis Raceway...............
Screaming Eagles 54th Annual Derby Event - Louisville, KY
After breaking in the new 2014 Grothus Dragbikes Pro Mod and dusting off the cobwebs from the 1988 Race Visions Pro ET bike at the Spring Manufacturers Cup, three weeks later Grothus Dragbikes headed to Ohio Valley Dragway for the famed all 1/8th mile Screaming Eagles 54th Annual Derby Event.
Brunson started off the weekend by running Pro ET on Saturday alongside nearly 40 others who all had their eyes on the Derby prize. Saturday's Pro ET race would be an especially tough one to win for the quicker bikes as all lights on the tree had shades on them and the track opted not to use "Cross Talk." This would be the first time that rider Brunson would have.........
